Northwest

Northwest (Nordvest, 2013) — a Danish crime drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Michael Noer. Casper (Gustav Dyekjær Giese), eighteen, lives in one of Copenhagen's most underfunded districts and runs burglaries for a local boss named Jamal, barely enough to keep his family going.

When Björn (Roland Müller), a criminal operating on a different scale, recruits him for bigger work, Casper reads it as a way out. It isn't. The deeper he moves into Björn's orbit, the harder it becomes to keep his younger brother clear of the fallout — and the conflict between Jamal and Björn is already heading somewhere that doesn't leave room for bystanders.

Noer shoots on location with a stripped-down approach: no score to guide your reactions, no slow-motion choreography around the violence.
