About

Synopsis

Beyond a Reasonable Doubt (2009) is an American thriller directed by Peter Hyams — watch it online on iFILM. Michael Douglas plays district attorney Martin Hunter, a prosecutor with an unbroken conviction record and a governor's race practically already won.

Ambitious journalist C.J. Nicholas (Jesse Metcalfe) suspects Hunter plants evidence. His plan to prove it: deliberately put himself in the frame for an actual murder. His girlfriend and colleague (Amber Tamblyn) works the case alongside him, only to realize she may not know the full truth about C.J. any more than she does about Hunter. The film revisits the 1956 Fritz Lang original and keeps the question of guilt genuinely open — who, exactly, is running the con here.
