Audrey Rose

Audrey Rose (1977) is a supernatural thriller from director Robert Wise, available to watch online on iFILM. A stranger turns up at a comfortable New York family's door claiming his dead daughter's soul has been reborn in their eleven-year-old girl.

At first the parents are sure the man is unhinged. Then their daughter starts waking at night screaming a name that isn't hers, and the stranger — played by Anthony Hopkins — keeps coming back, until the ground gives way beneath them. Marsha Mason plays a mother shielding her child from something she refuses to believe in. The longer it runs, the murkier it gets who actually needs saving.
