Newhart (1982) is a CBS sitcom you can watch online on iFILM — all eight seasons. Dick Loudon (Bob Newhart), a successful how-to book author, talks his wife Joanna into buying a small country inn in Vermont. He expected quiet. He got the opposite.

The comedy runs on the gap between Dick's mild, rational sensibility and the eccentric Vermonters surrounding him. Handyman George Utley (Tom Poston) repairs everything except what needs fixing. Maid Stephanie Vanderkellen (Julia Duffy) is an heiress who treats her job as a personal insult. Producer Michael Harris (Peter Scolari) is in love with his own opinions. And the three brothers next door — Larry, Darryl and Darryl — operate on a system of their own: Larry speaks for all three, and neither Darryl has uttered a word in his life. The series ran through 1990, 184 episodes across eight seasons.
