Gone in 60 Seconds

His character Maindrian Pace is a professional car thief contracted to steal 48 vehicles — and everything goes smoothly until the last one.

What follows is a chase sequence shot live on the streets of Long Beach, Carson, and Compton, destroying roughly a hundred cars in the process — none of it staged in the controlled way Hollywood action is staged. The pursuit runs for over forty minutes of screen time, which remains extraordinary by any standard.
