Synopsis
Mr. Majestyk (1974) — watch online on iFILM this lean American action picture starring Charles Bronson, directed by Richard Fleischer from an Elmore Leonard screenplay. Leonard's fingerprints are all over it: ordinary setting, clear stakes, no wasted scenes.
Vince Majestyk runs a watermelon farm in Colorado and hires migrant workers for the harvest. That earns him a run-in with the local mob, who consider the labor supply their property. When a hired gun tears up his crop, Majestyk grabs a rifle, gets behind the wheel of his pickup, and takes the fight directly to the people who started it. Al Lettieri — fresh off The Godfather — plays the professional killer sent to deal with him. Linda Cristal co-stars.
