Synopsis
Dragon Ball: Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle (1987) — watch online on iFILM. This is Toei Animation's second Dragon Ball theatrical film, directed by Daisuke Nishio, and runs a brisk 45 minutes. Master Roshi gives Goku and Kuririn a straightforward deal: retrieve the sleeping princess from Lucifer's castle and he'll take them on as students.
The castle delivers on its name. Lucifer's fortress is stocked with harpies, vampires and an assortment of hazards that give the two boys plenty to work through before they reach the prize — which turns out to be considerably more complicated than advertised. Masako Nozawa voices Goku, as she has throughout the franchise, and the film catches the character at his youngest and most unstoppable-by-sheer-obliviousness.
At under an hour it moves fast and skips the filler entirely. For anyone looking to introduce Dragon Ball to younger viewers, this self-contained entry works well as a starting point — no prior knowledge of the canon required. Stream Dragon Ball: Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle (1987) in full on iFILM.
