Austin & Ally (Seasons 1–4)

Austin & Ally is a Disney Channel musical comedy series you can watch online on iFILM, running from 2011 across four seasons. Ross Lynch plays Austin Moon, an aspiring pop singer who posts someone else's song online and wakes up famous. That someone is Ally Dawson — played by Laura Marano — a gifted songwriter who writes hit after hit from behind the counter of her family's music store and nearly faints at the thought of performing in public.

The two are essentially opposites forced into a partnership. Austin needs material; Ally needs an artist bold enough to get it heard. Around them orbit Trish, Austin's over-enthusiastic manager who reinvents her career plan weekly, and Dez, the cameraman whose every idea is spectacularly impractical. The series keeps its sense of humour grounded in the gap between the two leads: his reckless confidence, her anxious perfectionism.
