A pandemic spreads worldwide and it is unlike any other: each wave takes one sense away. First smell. Then taste. Susan (Green) is an epidemiologist in Glasgow tracking the outbreak; Michael (McGregor) is a chef at the restaurant across the street. The relationship they start is probably a bad idea. The film follows it anyway. Mackenzie keeps things quiet — no disaster-movie spectacle, no bunker sequences, just two people making choices as the world keeps getting smaller around them.
Screenwriter Kim Fupz Aakeson built the story around a single question: what holds between two people when everything external is taken away? McGregor and Green answer it without overselling it.
