Synopsis
Usagi Drop (うさぎドロップ, 2011) is a Japanese anime series you can watch online on iFILM. When 30-year-old bachelor Daikichi Kawachi turns up at his grandfather's funeral, he learns the old man had a secret: a 6-year-old daughter named Rin, whose mother disappeared the moment he died. The family's plan is to send Rin to an orphanage. Daikichi says no before he's had time to think about it.
What follows isn't a sentimental adoption story. Daikichi can't cook, can't do hair, can't make it to daycare pickup on time. Rin is quieter and more composed than he is. Based on Yumi Unita's manga, the series moves at the pace of an ordinary week — which turns out to be the exact right speed to make two strangers becoming something like a family feel earned.
