Synopsis

He needs cash to vanish across the border. Old contacts offer one last job: hit an armored car carrying a billion francs' worth of platinum. Inspector Blot — patient, methodical, and several steps ahead — closes in from the other direction. At two and a half hours, the film never wastes a minute. Melville constructs each silence with the same care as each gunshot.
