Synopsis
Le Doulos (1962) is a French crime thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Jean-Pierre Melville with Jean-Paul Belmondo in the title role. "Le doulos" is slang for both a hat and a police informer — and the film keeps you guessing which definition fits Silien right up until it doesn't.
Ex-con Maurice is barely out of prison before he's back in a heist. It goes sideways: the cops arrive knowing too much. All signs point to Silien, the man who connected the old crew to the new job. But Melville's world doesn't run on obvious guilt. Everyone in it has done something they'd rather not explain, and loyalty here is a currency that gets spent fast.
