Synopsis
Doomsday Book (인류멸망보고서, 2012) is a South Korean sci-fi anthology you can watch online on iFILM. Three separate stories about humanity engineering its own end.
In the first, a virus turns Seoul into a city of zombies. In the second, a robot working at a Buddhist temple attains enlightenment — and its makers decide that counts as a threat. In the third, a girl orders a billiard ball from an odd online shop just as a meteor closes in on Earth. The tone slides from horror to satire to parable.
Two directors split the work — Kim Jee-woon (I Saw the Devil) and Yim Pil-sung. Bae Doona shows up, and Bong Joon-ho turns in a cameo. It's uneven by design but a genuinely curious cross-section of Korean genre filmmaking, where the funny sits right next to the bleak. One for fans of sci-fi anthologies in the Twilight Zone vein.
