Synopsis
The Frisco Kid (1979) is a Western comedy directed by Robert Aldrich, available to watch online on iFILM. It is the 1850s: a young Polish rabbi named Avram arrives in Philadelphia on his way to San Francisco, where a congregation is waiting. He has almost no idea how far that actually is.
Conmen strip him of his money on day one. From there, the journey west turns into a string of near-disasters — Quaker settlements, run-ins with outlaws, and a Native American tribe that turns out to be more hospitable than the rest. Harrison Ford plays Tommy, a good-natured bank robber who becomes Avram's travel companion by accident. Gene Wilder carries the film on the kind of wide-eyed sincerity that makes you root for the man even when every decision he makes is wrong.
Robert Aldrich blends frontier slapstick with a quietly affectionate study of faith and unlikely friendship. Watch The Frisco Kid (1979) online on iFILM.
