Wizards

Wizards (1977) is a cult American animated fantasy film by Ralph Bakshi — watch it online on iFILM. Two million years after a nuclear war, the survivors have split into two worlds: a fairy realm of elves and magic, and a wasteland of mutants and machines.

Twin brothers born to the fairy queen have grown into total opposites. Avatar is a good-natured sorcerer who keeps his people safe with spells and humor. His brother Blackwolf is a mutant who digs up Nazi propaganda reels and old weaponry, using them to brainwash an army and push toward conquest. Bob Holt and Mark Hamill voice the leads. Bakshi mixed hand-drawn animation with rotoscoped war footage — a low-budget technique that gives the battle sequences a texture unlike anything else in animation at the time.
