RocketMan

RocketMan (1997) is a Disney family sci-fi comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Software whiz Fred Randall wrote the navigation system for the first crewed mission to Mars — then accidentally takes out two of the astronauts meant to fly it.

With no one else trained on his code, Fred himself ends up strapped into the seat: a clumsy motormouth who barely finished the program. The commander is furious, the crew puts up with him, and the only one who really gets Fred is Ulysses, a chimpanzee who's logged more space hours than any of them. On the way to the red planet and down on its surface, things go wrong in ways the professionals can't fix — leaving the bumbling newcomer to stumble into the rescue.

Harland Williams carries it all on pure slapstick, with Beau Bridges and Shelley Duvall turning up in supporting parts. It's aimed squarely at ten-year-olds and the parents who don't mind silly. Stream RocketMan (1997) online on iFILM.
