Chiara Mastroianni plays Maria with a sharp wit and restless intelligence: one night alone turns into a parade of visitors — past lovers, a younger version of her husband, her own earlier self. Benjamin Biolay, Carole Bouquet, and Camille Cottin round out the cast of this elegant, slightly surreal loop through two decades of marriage. Director Christophe Honoré keeps it light on the surface and surprisingly precise underneath — less a film about whether to leave than about how much of another person we actually see.
