Synopsis
Hijack 1971 (2024) is a South Korean thriller you can watch online on iFILM, built on a real Korean Air hijacking from the Cold War years. A routine Gangneung-to-Seoul flight turns into a trap when a passenger pulls out a grenade.
At the controls sits Tae-in (Ha Jung-woo), a former air force pilot who traded fighter jets for commercial routes. Among the passengers is Yong-dae (Yeo Jin-goo), while veteran captain Kyu-sik (Sung Dong-il) runs the cockpit. The hijacker wants the plane turned north toward the border with North Korea, and every choice the crew makes decides who walks off alive. Flight attendant Ok-soon (Chae Soo-bin) struggles to keep the cabin from breaking into panic.
Drawn from an actual 1971 incident, when an armed man tried to force a civilian flight across the 38th parallel, the film stays tight and claustrophobic — a hundred minutes mostly locked inside one cramped cabin.
