Synopsis
The Festival (2018) is a British music comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Nick gets dumped on graduation day, in front of everyone, mid-speech. Weeks of misery follow. Then his best mate Shane drags him to three days of mud, tents and deafening dance music at a massive open-air festival.
On the way they pick up Amy, a relentlessly chatty stranger who refuses to leave their side. Of course Nick's ex is camped right there too. What follows is a lost tent, a naked neighbour, questionable substances and one very damaged ego trying to glue itself back together. Joe Thomas brings his trademark cringe from The Inbetweeners, and Claudia O'Doherty walks off with most of her scenes.
Directing comes from Iain Morris, co-creator of The Inbetweeners, so the festival chaos carries that same awkward, mean-spirited streak. It's no classic, but it lands for anyone who has ever pitched a tent in a wet field for a band they love. Stream The Festival (2018) online on iFILM.
