Synopsis
Three Days and a Life (Trois jours et une vie, 2019) is a French-Belgian crime drama — watch online on iFILM. Director Nicolas Boukhrief adapted the novel by Goncourt Prize laureate Pierre Lemaitre. Christmas 1999, a quiet village in the Ardennes: twelve-year-old Antoine is accidentally involved in the disappearance of a neighbour's child. Within hours a ferocious storm buries the evidence under snow.
Antoine carries the secret into adulthood. Sandrine Bonnaire and Charles Berling play the adults around him — none of them aware of the weight he has been hauling since that December. Pablo Pauly takes Antoine into his grown years, a man who has spent two decades convincing himself the past is sealed. There are no chase sequences here, no dramatic confessions; the pressure builds through accumulation.
Lemaitre's strength as a novelist is psychological slow-burn, and Boukhrief translates that quality faithfully. For viewers who prefer their thrillers cold and European rather than propulsive, this one delivers. Stream Three Days and a Life (2019) on iFILM.
