Greed

Greed (2019) is Michael Winterbottom's satire you can watch online on iFILM. Steve Coogan stars as Sir Richard McCreadie, a fast-fashion mogul throwing himself a Roman-themed 60th birthday bash on Mykonos, complete with a half-built amphitheater, a rented lion, and extras shuffling around in togas.

While staff rehearse a gladiator fight for the celebrity guests, a hired biographer played by David Mitchell pieces together where the money actually came from: Sri Lankan sweatshops, tax dodges, and high-street chains run into the ground while their owner walked away a billionaire. A camp of Syrian refugees nearby keeps spoiling the view. Asa Butterfield, Isla Fisher and Sophie Cookson fill out the circus.

Winterbottom barely bothers to disguise which real-life retail tycoons he's aiming at, and that's the point. The comedy is broad enough that the bitter ending lands all the harder. Stream Greed (2019) online on iFILM.
