Synopsis
24 Days (24 Jours, 2014) is a French drama you can watch online on iFILM, reconstructing the kidnapping that became a turning point in France's confrontation with antisemitism. Director Alexandre Arcady cast Zabou Breitman and Pascal Elbé as Ilan Halimi's parents, with Jacques Gamblin and Sylvie Testud among the investigators.
In January 2006, twenty-three-year-old Ilan Halimi was taken by a group calling themselves the Gang of Barbarians. His family negotiated. Police worked the ransom angle. Twenty-four days passed before the full picture emerged — and by then the damage was irreversible. Arcady builds the film in two parallel tracks: the family and the investigation, each operating inside its own assumptions about what kind of crime this was.
Not a thriller, not a courtroom drama — this is a film about how a tragedy unfolds through what people fail to see in time. Stream 24 Days online on iFILM.
