Synopsis
Chato's Land (1972) is a brutal revisionist Western you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Michael Winner. In 1870s New Mexico, a half-Apache loner named Chato (Charles Bronson) guns down a racist sheriff in self-defense and vanishes into the desert.
A posse led by former Confederate captain Quincy Whitmore — played by Jack Palance — rides after him. The deeper they push into the badlands, the less their badge means. Heat, thirst and their own cruelty pull the group apart long before Chato fires a shot. He knows this terrain; they don't. When the hunters turn on his family, the prey becomes the predator.
Winner strips the frontier of all myth: dust, casual violence, and men whose morals rot in the sun. Bronson barely speaks the whole film, which only makes him scarier. One for fans of mean, sun-scorched Seventies Westerns where the line between law and outlaw disappears completely. Stream Chato's Land online on iFILM.
