Synopsis
The Thieves (도둑들, 2012) is a South Korean heist thriller directed by Choi Dong-hoon — watch it online on iFILM. A Korean fixer called Macao Park pulls together a joint crew of South Korean and Hong Kong career criminals to lift a diamond necklace from a heavily secured casino safe in Macau. Everyone on the crew has a private agenda. Some want the money; one is after revenge for a years-old double-cross; at least one is working with the police. The film drew over 12 million viewers in Korean cinemas — a record at the time — and it earns the numbers. Choi Dong-hoon runs multiple storylines in parallel without losing the thread, and the loyalty among the crew is basically zero from the start, which makes every scene feel genuinely unpredictable.
