Synopsis
Saint Ralph (2005) is a Canadian comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM, written and directed by Michael McGowan and set in Hamilton, Ontario in 1954. Adam Butcher plays Ralph, a fourteen-year-old quietly surviving on his own while his widowed mother lies in a coma and his Catholic school keeps handing him demerits.
Ralph latches onto an idea — winning the Boston Marathon would be a genuine miracle, and a miracle is what his mother needs. Nobody believes him. Father Fitzpatrick (Gordon Pinsent), the strict school principal, writes him off entirely. But Father Hibbert (Campbell Scott), a former runner who has had the optimism coached out of him, sees something in Ralph's pure stubbornness and agrees to train him.
