Dying of the Light

Dying of the Light (2014) is an American spy thriller written and directed by Paul Schrader, starring Nicolas Cage alongside Anton Yelchin — stream it online on iFILM. Evan Lake spent his career as a CIA field officer and came out the other side with a psychological condition and a desk job that's killing him faster than any enemy could. Then his young protégé surfaces intelligence suggesting that the terrorist who once tortured Lake — Muhammad Banir, presumed dead for two decades — is very much alive and dying slowly of his own illness in Eastern Europe.

Lake goes off the books. Yelchin plays the junior agent who follows him across continents on a mission the agency never authorised. Schrader — the writer behind Taxi Driver and Raging Bull — builds the film around a man running out of time chasing a man running out of time.
