Synopsis
The Tracey Fragments (2007) is a Canadian drama from director Bruce McDonald that you can watch online on iFILM. Fifteen-year-old Tracey Berkowitz rides the back of a night bus wrapped in nothing but a shower curtain, piecing back together the day her little brother Sonny vanished.
Tracey doesn't fit anywhere. Her parents barely notice her, the kids at school make her a target, and the one bright spot is Billy Zero, a new boy she has quietly decided is her boyfriend. McDonald refuses to tell any of this straight. The screen splinters into dozens of simultaneous panels, so you assemble a wounded teenager's mind from shards. Elliot Page carries nearly every frame — raw, jittery, completely convincing as a girl who would rather invent a life than endure her own.
Adapted from the novel of the same name, it runs a tight 77 minutes of pure formal nerve. This one isn't for everybody: it's prickly, broken on purpose, and hard to settle into. But for early Page or for editing that fights its own grammar, it earns the watch. Stream The Tracey Fragments (2007) online on iFILM.
