Synopsis

Brothers Ben and Clint Allison (Gable and Cameron Mitchell) are broke Confederate veterans who try to rob a prosperous trader, Nathan Stark (Robert Ryan), and end up hired by him instead — to push a massive herd from Texas to Montana. Blizzards, Sioux raids and rough terrain make the drive dangerous enough; what makes it personal is that both Ben and Stark want Nelle (Russell), a self-reliant woman who is not interested in either man's plans for her.
