Synopsis
The Last Mistress (Une vieille maîtresse, 2007) — watch it online on iFILM, a French period drama directed by Catherine Breillat, adapted from Jules Barbey d'Aurevilly's 1851 novel. Young Parisian nobleman Ryno de Marigny is set to marry the granddaughter of a powerful marquise. A clean break from his old life. His old life won't cooperate.
For ten years he has been tangled up with La Vellini, a courtesan played by Asia Argento — Spanish blood, daughter of a bullfighter, a woman Ryno keeps returning to despite every reason not to. Fu'ad Aït Aattou plays Ryno; Roxane Mesquida is his fiancée Hermangarde. The marquise learns of the affair and wants answers. Léa Seydoux appears in a small early role.
