Synopsis
We Will All Meet in Paradise (Nous irons tous au paradis, 1977) is a French comedy you can watch online on iFILM. One bad photograph — Étienne Dorsay's wife Marthe hugging a stranger — is all it takes to send a contented Parisian spiraling into jealous paranoia.
Yves Robert reunites the four friends from his earlier hit Pardon Mon Affaire. Étienne (Jean Rochefort), Bouly, Simon and Daniel are middle-aged, settled, and still completely undone by the women in their lives. While Étienne cooks up one ridiculous scheme after another to unmask the rumored lover, the men buy a cheap weekend country house that turns out to hide as many surprises as a marriage. A very young Josiane Balasko turns up in the ensemble.
This second half of Robert's gentle two-film comedy runs on conversation, not slapstick — no villains, no chases, just grown men outsmarting themselves.
