Trapped (Ófærð, 2015) is an Icelandic crime series you can watch online on iFILM. A ferry arrives at a small fjord-side town and leaves something behind: a dismembered body washes ashore. Before the investigation can begin, a blizzard rolls in and cuts the community off completely. No backup, no way out.

Local police chief Andri, played by Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, is left running a murder inquiry with two colleagues, a town full of people who know each other too well, and a ship full of strangers no one knows at all. Baltasar Kormákur — the director behind Everest and Jar City — produced and directed episodes here, and his fingerprints are on the look of it: bleak, textured, unhurried in the way only Scandinavian crime drama can be.

The landscape does real work. Snowdrifts, frozen fjord, mountains disappearing into white — it's not backdrop, it's pressure. One of the stronger entries in Nordic noir, with a lead performance that carries the weight of every scene. Stream all seasons of Trapped online on iFILM.
