It's Not Me, I Swear!

"It's Not Me, I Swear!" (C'est pas moi, je le jure!, 2008) is a Quebec comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Philippe Falardeau. The summer is 1968, the suburb is Montreal, and ten-year-old Léon has a father who has disappeared and a mother whose grip on ordinary life is loosening — she leaves for Greece mid-summer and doesn't look back.

Antoine L'Écuyer plays Léon without sentimentality: furious, funny, reckless, and scared in roughly equal measure. His response to adult chaos is to create his own — he wrecks the neighbors' property, fakes his own death, falls in love at exactly the wrong moment.
