Accident

From there the story winds back. Stephen, a philosophy don, is stuck — in his marriage, his career, his own skin. Losey and screenwriter Harold Pinter stretch out one Oxford summer of half-sentences and polite silences, with disaster gathering underneath. The crash in the title isn't where the story starts — it's where it ends up.

Adapted from Nicholas Mosley's novel, it carries Pinter's signature talk, where the thing that matters always goes unsaid, and it took a special jury prize at Cannes.
