Mannix (Seasons 1–8)

Mannix (1967–1975) is an American detective series you can watch online on iFILM. Mike Connors plays Joe Mannix, a private investigator who handles the toughest, most tangled cases in Los Angeles.

When the show begins, Mannix works for Intertect — a high-tech detective agency run by the smooth, controlling Wickersham, where computers do the heavy lifting. Mannix doesn't fit. He leaves to go solo, setting up a small office where his secretary Peggy Fair (Gail Fisher), a cop's widow, keeps the place running and more than once gets pulled into the danger herself. Mannix works with his instincts and his fists. Computers can wait.

Created by Richard Levinson and William Link — the same duo later behind Columbo — the series ran 194 episodes across eight seasons and was the final production of Desilu Studios. Gail Fisher took home a Golden Globe for her role as Peggy, making her one of the first Black performers to win in an acting category on American television.
