Synopsis
Carry On Screaming! (1966) is a British horror comedy you can watch online on iFILM. The twelfth entry in the long-running Carry On series, it gleefully sends up the gothic chillers of Hammer studio.
Young women keep disappearing from a Victorian suburb. Behind it is the sinister Dr Watt, who kidnaps them and turns them into mannequins to sell to local shops. On the case is the bumbling Detective Sergeant Bung (Harry H. Corbett), who hasn't got the faintest clue. Along the way: a reanimated brute, a mad laboratory, and the smouldering femme fatale Valeria, played with deadpan relish by Fenella Fielding.
Director Gerald Thomas and the regular troupe led by Kenneth Williams turn horror clichés into a parade of puns and farce. Plenty of fans rate this the best Carry On of the lot.
