Spellbound

Spellbound (오싹한 연애, 2011) is a South Korean romantic horror-comedy you can watch online on iFILM, starring Son Ye-jin and Lee Min-ki. Yeo-ri has seen ghosts since childhood. Not as a figure of speech — actual spirits trail her everywhere, and bad things happen to anyone who gets close. She's built her life around keeping people at arm's length.

Jo-goo is a struggling magician who stumbles across her by accident and immediately sees the commercial potential: a ghost-whisperer as the centrepiece of a horror stage show. The act becomes a hit. Somewhere between rehearsals and closing nights, he realises he's fallen for her — which her ghosts take as a personal challenge. The film handles the genre mix well; the scares are real enough to startle, and the romance earns its ending without turning saccharine.
