Synopsis
The Rescue (紧急救援, 2020) is Dante Lam's Chinese action-thriller, and you can watch it online on iFILM. It follows a Coast Guard rescue unit whose job is to run straight into the disasters everyone else flees.
An offshore oil rig is on fire, tilting and ready to blow. A plane goes down on water. People are trapped with minutes to spare. Captain Gao Qian and his crew throw themselves into one impossible operation after another, each a razor-thin gamble: reach them, pull them out, get home alive. Eddie Peng leads the cast under Lam, the director behind Operation Red Sea, who knows how to stage chaos at scale.
The film leans hard on spectacle and practical stunt work — fire, water, twisting steel and real physical danger rather than pure CGI. Between missions there's room for the hero's family life, too.
