Synopsis
Boy Missing (Secuestro, 2016) is a Spanish thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Mar Targarona. Blanca Portillo plays Patricia De Lucas, a prominent Madrid attorney who gets the call every parent dreads: her son Víctor didn't come home from school. He turns up hours later, bruised, with a story about a man who tried to take him.
A suspect is arrested. The evidence doesn't hold — he walks. Patricia is certain the system got it wrong, and she stops waiting for it to fix itself. The film follows the next 105 minutes as she takes control — and as her decisions compound past the point where she can take them back. José Coronado co-stars.
What makes this more than a standard revenge thriller is Portillo's performance: Patricia is never made entirely sympathetic. The further she goes, the harder Targarona makes it to stay with her.
