Synopsis
Digging Up the Marrow (2015) is a horror mockumentary you can watch online on iFILM. Director Adam Green plays a version of himself who gets a letter from a retired detective swearing that an underground world of monsters is real — and that he has found the way in.
The detective is played by Ray Wise, Twin Peaks' Leland Palmer, and he balances right on the line between harmless crank and a man who has genuinely seen something. Green grabs a camera and goes to call his bluff, half expecting a prank. Woods, sketches of creatures, late-night trips to a hole in the ground, and one question that stretches all the way to the end: is this guy insane, a hoaxer, or the only person telling the truth? The creature designs come from artist Alex Pardee, and they look deliberately handmade, old-school nasty.
It's a small, low-budget scare built for people who like dread that grows out of waiting rather than special effects. The tagline, "Believing is seeing," flips the old saying and lands square on the film's nerve. Stream Digging Up the Marrow (2015) online on iFILM.
