Synopsis
Jean-Paul Belmondo headlines The Pariah (La Scoumoune, 1972), a French crime drama you can watch online on iFILM. Marseille, 1934: a sharp-shooting gangster named Roberto comes back to town to free his friend Xavier, locked up for a killing he didn't commit.
To stand against the local bosses, Roberto seizes the gambling dens and the streets, with the loyal Georgia, played by Claudia Cardinale, at his side. Loyalty and stubborn pride keep dragging him back behind bars, and across fifteen years he fights cops, guards and rival crews just to stay alive. Director José Giovanni was a former convict himself, and he writes the underworld from the inside. Look for a young Gérard Depardieu in a small early role.
