Synopsis
Rosalie Blum (2016) is a French comedy by Julien Rappeneau, ready to watch online on iFILM. Hairdresser Vincent Machot has his whole life memorised — the salon, the cat, the too-invasive mother, a girlfriend he barely sees.
Then he walks into Rosalie's little grocery shop and can't shake the feeling he's met her somewhere before. Where, though? He starts trailing her around town. He's terrible at it: Rosalie clocks him almost at once and quietly sends her own niece to follow Vincent instead. From there it spirals into a gentle chain of people spying on people, with a faintly sad kite-maker at the centre of it all. Adapted from Camille Jourdy's graphic novel, this is small-scale storytelling about loneliness and the odd ways strangers drift into each other's lives — no big twists, plenty of warmth.
