Synopsis
Neuilly Yo Mama! (Neuilly sa Mère!, 2009), directed by Gabriel Julien-Laferrière, is a French fish-out-of-water comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Fourteen-year-old Samy Benboudouf has his comfortable suburban life in Chalon-sur-Saône upended when his parents ship him off to live with relatives in Neuilly-sur-Seine — the wealthiest, most buttoned-up neighborhood in the Paris area.
His new guardian is Stanislas de Chazel, a blue-blooded aristocrat who treats table manners like military orders. Samy, played by Samy Seghir, is completely out of his depth. Rachida Brakni, Denis Podalydès and Valérie Lemercier round out a cast that plays the class gap for laughs without turning either side into a cartoon. The film became one of the highest-grossing French comedies of its release year.
