Synopsis
Riptide (1984) is an American crime-adventure series you can watch online on iFILM, following a Southern California private detective agency run by two Vietnam veterans — Cody Allen (Perry King) and Nick Ryder (Joe Penny) — and their high-school friend Murray Bozinsky (Thom Bray), who handles everything technical and brings along a robot named Roboz.
The team works out of a boat in a Malibu marina with their own helicopter on standby. Cases run the usual NBC circuit: missing persons, scams, witnesses who need protecting. Nothing here pretends to be gritty. What the show does well is keep the banter light and the California sun constant — a deliberate counter-programming to the darker procedurals of the era.
