Synopsis

His wife comes back a day early. Cornered, Jean-Paul Belmondo's character blurts out that the girl is the illegitimate daughter he hid for twenty years. The lie snowballs: a fake mother shows up, the stories stop matching, and the guest — played by a young Sophie Marceau — sniffs out her leverage and starts running both spouses in circles.
Belmondo throws no punches and leaps off no rooftops this time; he carries the whole thing on charm alone, a rare pure-comedy turn at the height of his fame.
