Synopsis
The Tuche Family (Les Tuche, 2011) — watch online the French family comedy that launched a franchise, directed by Olivier Baroux and starring Jean-Paul Rouve and Isabelle Nanty. The film was a substantial box-office hit in France and spawned three sequels.
The Tuche family lives in the tiny village of Bouzolles and has built an entire worldview around the principle that hard work is overrated. They are broke, cheerful, and make no apologies for either. Then they win the lottery. A genuinely life-changing sum. The family packs up and moves to Monaco, where their new neighbors have titles and the dress code is strict. The Tuches have no idea how any of that works — and no particular interest in finding out.
The comedy does not punch down at its characters. That is the key to why it works: Rouve and Nanty play the parents with real warmth, and the humor comes from the gap between the world's expectations and the family's cheerful refusal to meet them. Light, good-natured, and easy to watch with anyone. Stream The Tuche Family (2011) online on iFILM.
