Synopsis
Life, and Nothing More… (1992) — watch online on iFILM. Abbas Kiarostami made this film in the immediate aftermath of the June 1990 earthquake that killed roughly forty thousand people across Iran's Gilan province. It is the second part of his Koker trilogy.
A film director and his young son drive into the devastated region looking for two child actors from Kiarostami's earlier Where Is the Friend's Home? The roads are blocked, detours loop back on themselves. Yet everywhere along the route people are already laying new foundations, stringing up television aerials, even holding weddings in the rubble. The camera just rides along and watches. That quiet persistence — survival not as triumph but as reflex — is what the film is actually about. Stream Life, and Nothing More… online on iFILM.
