Synopsis
Sword Master (2016) is a Hong Kong wuxia fantasy you can watch online on iFILM. Director Derek Yee, with Tsui Hark producing, remakes the 1977 classic Death Duel, adapted from a novel by Gu Long.
Tired of the killing that his fame brought him, the unbeatable swordsman Xie Xiaofeng walks away from everything and hires himself out as a nameless labourer. Elsewhere, the proud fighter Yan Shisan lives only to duel him — and when word spreads that Xiaofeng is dead, his whole purpose collapses. The sword won't release either man so easily: old enemies track Xiaofeng down and force the blade back into his hand. Yee shoots the fights like ballet, all flying bodies, falling snow and painted, ink-wash landscapes. It's stylised wuxia, not gritty realism. Stream Sword Master (2016) online on iFILM.
