Synopsis
A Kiss Before Dying (1991) is a crime thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Matt Dillon plays a charming sociopath who will kill anyone standing between him and a fortune.
Jonathan Corliss has wanted serious money since he was a kid. He courts Dorothy, daughter of a copper-mining magnate, then learns she's pregnant and that her father will cut her off over it. Jonathan kills her and dresses the scene up as a suicide, then talks his way onto the old man's payroll, with Max von Sydow as the tycoon. What he overlooks: Dorothy has a twin sister, Ellen, and Ellen refuses to buy the suicide story. Sean Young plays both women.
The script comes from Ira Levin's novel, by the man behind Rosemary's Baby; it had already reached the screen back in 1956, so comparing the two is half the fun for genre buffs. Dillon flips his nice-guy image into something glacial. It's a lesser-known but solid neo-noir for anyone who likes knowing the killer from frame one.
