Through the Fire

Through the Fire (Sauver ou périr, 2018) is a French drama from director Frédéric Tellier, available to watch online on iFILM. Franck is a Paris firefighter, a husband, and a father-to-be expecting twins. On one call he throws himself into danger to pull his men out — and wakes in a hospital bed with his face badly burned.

What follows isn't a rescue story but a recovery one. A man who spent his life saving others now depends entirely on them: surgeons, nurses, his wife, the people he used to carry out of buildings. Pierre Niney plays Franck as someone relearning how to recognize his own reflection, hold his children, and accept the help he always gave. Anaïs Demoustier is the wife holding the family together while he rebuilds himself piece by piece.
