Synopsis
Tanguy, le retour (2019) — watch online on iFILM — the French comedy from director Étienne Chatiliez, picking up the character whose name entered the dictionary. The original 2001 film coined "tanguy" as a French term for adult children who refuse to leave home. Sixteen years on, he's back.
Tanguy is now 44. His wife Meï Lin has left him, and he arrives at his parents' door carrying his young daughter Zhu and very little else. Sabine Azéma and André Dussollier return as the parents — genuinely happy to see their son, and quietly panicking about what this means for their retirement. Every attempt to nudge him back toward independence backfires. Tanguy is settling in.
